UI / UX Project

The Problem

People are not getting enough sleep. The 'Nothing Much Happens' Podcast is now creating an app that is creating a seamless sleeping experience. The idea is people can be using this app to listen to storytelling episodes that help the user fall asleep while minimizing the number of distractions when using your phone. This means including features such as 'Night Mode' that reduce bright lights on the screen. 'Sleep Time' which once the audio comes closer and closer to the end of an episode it dims more and more and eventually shuts itself off to ensure the phone doesn't continue to play all through the night wasting data. All of these contribute to creating a seamless experience from operation, to listening, to gently falling asleep.

Competitor Analysis

Sleep w/ Me Podcast

Sleep w/ Silk Podcast

- Tells stories but not in a soothing tone very monotone normal voicing.

- Not very creative or thorough story telling, just rambling sentences and words.

- Overall quality feels just a bit cheesy and not modern or clean.

- It does included voices and storytelling which typically helps people drift off faster.

- Sometimes not English so people become more confused while trying to sleep.

- Ties into ASMR which some people say helps sleep, others claim it keeps them awake.

Sleep ASMR Videos

- Usually incorporates some sound effects to enhance the sleeping experience.

- Some videos can be to distracting with sound effects if not used well.

- Autoplay on YouTube can pull people out of sleep and cannot transition easily.
